My wife and I are from Vermont and through our daughter and son-in-law, who live in Maui, hired Colleen to help us find the perfect place for our two families to purchase and to represent us during the process. Being remote buyers is extremely difficult and Hawaiian real estate transactions are very complicated and much different from the mainland. For example, people don't use attorneys in Hawaii so the parties must rely on their realtor to do much more of the work. There are many required or recommended inspections, surveys are required, and the Hawaii purchase and sales agreement contains numerous time sensitive deadlines and approval sign-offs. Many issues are unique to Hawaii and very unusual to mainland buyers.
